Description

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) aims to improve people’s health and quality of life by conducting and supporting medical research and research training on the diseases and conditions under its purview. Within the NIDDK, the Division of Kidney, Urologic and Hematologic Diseases (KUH) manages programs in kidney research, awarding hundreds of millions of dollars in research funding each year. This poster describes the variety of pathways and mechanisms for research funding through NIDDK, including a list of active, kidney-related funding announcements in clinical, basic, and translational research; pilot funding opportunities available through ongoing NIDDK consortia; and mechanisms and resources to support exploratory clinical trials, traditional and pragmatic clinical trials, epidemiological studies, collaborative research, and research and development conducted by small businesses.
