Fellows: In-Training Exam
The In-Training Examination is jointly administered by the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). The exam is intended to facilitate learning by identifying areas in nephrology in which the fellow might focus particular efforts in the future.
Scores will be available approximately eight weeks following the exam. Only program directors will receive access to the scores, and distribute to fellows accordingly. Scores are not used by any accrediting board or agency. The exam is not intended to be used as a means to grade fellows or to determine if they have passed a certain benchmark; rather, it is a means to help fellows and program directors assess learning progress.
In 2014, over 98% of fellows took this examination.
