Breaking Down Barriers to Transplantation: Management of Older Adults and Individuals with Obesity

Session Description

People with obesity have reduced access to transplantation. Older and frail transplant recipients have poor outcomes after transplantation. This session covers surgical management and approaches and reviews post-transplant kidney outcomes in patients with obesity. The effects of frailty and therapeutic interventions to address frailty in older kidney transplant candidates are discussed.
