ASN Society News - April 5, 2019
ASN Council Nominations Deadline: Friday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. EDT
The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) seeks nominations for the annual election of the ASN Council, the society's governing board. Qualified candidates should have the vision, experience, and expertise to guide the society in leading the fight against kidney diseases.
With the change to the society's bylaws in 2016, this year's election is for an At-Large Councilor only. The At-Large Councilor will serve a single four-year term and will not advance to ASN President. After serving as At-Large Councilor, he or she is eligible to run again as an officer. ASN officers will serve a single four-year term (as Secretary, President-Elect, President, and Past President).
Nomination submissions should consist of 1) the curriculum vitae of the nominated ASN member and 2) a brief nomination letter (one to three paragraphs). ASN is committed to promoting diversity at all levels of the society, including council leadership. To learn more about this commitment, please visit the ASN Diversity and Inclusion Committee's website.
ASN members are encouraged to email nominations to ASN Operations Associate Javier Rivera at operations@asn-online.org.
ASN must receive nominations for the 2019 ASN Council election by Friday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
ASN will send a ballot, including brief biographical data, to all active and corresponding members approximately three months prior to ASN Kidney Week 2019. The meeting will take place Tuesday, November 5, to Sunday, November 10, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
