First Annual ASN Hill Day
On Thursday May 5, 2011, ASN launched the first annual ASN Hill Day on Capitol Hill. The ASN Council, Board of Advisors, and Public Policy Board met with nearly 60 key Congressional leaders and key staff members to raise awareness of the growing public health threat kidney disease poses, and to encourage support for research that improves the prevention and treatment of kidney disease. They also addressed ASN’s other policy priorities, including immunosuppressive drug coverage, new care delivery models, health disparities, and the nephrology workforce crisis.
