Basic/Clinical Science Session
New Approaches to GFR: From Physiology to Bedside, Including the Barry M. Brenner, MD, Endowed Lectureship
October 26, 2024 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM
Location: Room 24, Convention Center
Session Description
Assessment of GFR is fundamental to nephrology. Clinical practice generally focuses on estimation of GFR. This session considers important physiological regulation of GFR and novel clinical tools to assess it.
ASN gratefully acknowledges Monarch Pharmaceuticals for support of the Brenner Endowed Lectureship.
Learning Objective(s)
- Explain the physiology of "high" GFR in health and disease
- Discuss kidney functional reserve and examine its utility in addition to resting GFR
- Explain how to incorporate measured GFR into clinical practice
- Assess GFR in adolescents and young adults
Learning Pathway(s)
- CKD Non-Dialysis
- Pediatric Nephrology
