Translational Session
Heterogeneity of Diabetic Kidney Disease, Including the Garabed Eknoyan, MD, Endowed Lectureship
October 25, 2024 | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: Ballroom 20A, Convention Center
Session Description
This session highlights important metrics of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) heterogeneity. Differences in DKD course due to sex, race and ethnicity, diabetes type, or additional underlying kidney disease causes are reviewed.
ASN gratefully acknowledges Wadi N. Suki, MD, for support of the Eknoyan Endowed Lectureship.
Learning Objective(s)
- Identify sex differences in epidemiology and biology of DKD
- Specify differences in DKD course due to race or ethnical ancestry
- Discuss DKD course and molecular determinants in type 1 and type 2 diabetes
- Identify causes of nondiabetic kidney disease in diabetes
Learning Pathway(s)
- Diabetic Kidney Disease
- CKD Non-Dialysis
