Session Description

Peritoneal dialysis practice varies according to region and country. This session focuses on aspects of peritoneal dialysis delivery common in other parts of the world that may enhance quality of peritoneal dialysis delivery in the United States with resulting longer time on therapy.

  • Explain how assisted peritoneal dialysis increases access to and length of time on peritoneal dialysis
  • Evaluate evidence of benefit of peritoneal dialysis fluids not available or as commonly used in the United States
  • Examine how different peritoneal dialysis prescriptions are used globally
  • Discuss how size of peritoneal dialysis centers affects patient outcomes
