Basic/Clinical Science Session
Lymphatics and Immune Cell Activation in Cardiorenal Disease
October 25, 2024 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM
Location: Room 5, Convention Center
Session Description
This session focuses on the role of lymphatics and their interaction with immune cells in the regulation of kidney and cardiovascular function. Kidney diseases lead to accumulation of interstitial fluid, macromolecules, and immune cells and also stimulate lymphatic remodeling. Therapeutic targeting of the lymphatic network affects interstitial clearance and can amplify or limit the adaptive immune responses. Whether the interplay between lymphatics and immune cells occurs in cardiorenal syndrome is unknown.
