Special Session
Kidney Transplantation in 2024: Change Isn't Coming, It's Here, Including the Christopher R. Blagg, MD, Endowed Lectureship in Kidney Diseases and Public Policy
October 24, 2024 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM
Location: Room 24, Convention Center
Session Description
This session explores the pivotal - and controversial - changes that are reshaping the way we understand access to the kidney wait-list, measure success in organ procurement, balance seemingly competing objectives in organ allocation, and innovate how we deliver care to optimize access to kidney transplantation. With major policy changes touching each of these crucial components of the kidney transplant ecosystem underway, this session helps general and transplant nephrology professionals appreciate what these changes mean for their patients' odds of accessing the wait-list and receiving a kidney transplant in 2024 and beyond.
ASN gratefully acknowledges the Northwest Kidney Centers and its contributors for support of the Blagg Lectureship.
