Sam Pederson
July 26, 1943 - June 20, 2023
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sam Pederson in the evening hours of June 20th. We lift our prayers for comfort and peace to surround his family; his wife of 57 years, MaryLou, his son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Debra, his grandchildren, Lucas and Julia.
Sam Pederson was a lifelong advocate for people living with kidney diseases. He was a kidney transplant recipient and previous CAPD patient who became one of two patient representatives on the inaugural KHI Board of Directors from 2013 to 2015. He also contributed to the kidney community through his term as the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) President. Mr. Pederson demonstrated strong leadership in the field of patient-engagement.
