Alfred K. Cheung, MD, BRCU Faculty

Alfred K. Cheung, MD, is a Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension, and Executive Director of the Dialysis Program at the University of Utah Hospital & Clinics. He is also a member of ASN’s Young Investigator Award Committee and is Deputy Director of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Cheung received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York and completed his nephrology fellowship training from the University of California at San Diego. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
As a nephrologist, Dr. Cheung manages a variety of kidney diseases, with particular interests in chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and chronic dialysis. He is active in research and frequently speaks at a national level in these areas.
