This session will review the incidence, prevalence, morbidity, and mortality of infectious disease outbreaks in dialysis facilities. The session will explore a case involving an outbreak and what actions were required by regulation to report the outbreak, and the work that was done to contain the disease. The session will take a real world look at the responsibilities of a dialysis facility medical director and administrative staff to establish relationships with State Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) professionals and the benefits that come from those relationships.
