ASN Journal Press Release Process

Upon receiving the list of accepted articles for publication in CJASN, JASN, and Kidney360, the respective editors recommend articles to promote to the press. Articles are selected for the quality of the science and interest to the public. The press release is written by a science writer and reviewed by each quoted author for accuracy. When the release is finalized, it is disseminated, under embargo, to the media. Information contained in or about accepted articles may not appear in print or electronic format, nor on radio, television or social media, or be released by the news media until after 5 p.m. ET when the embargo lifts. For information about publication dates for specific articles, please contact Christine Feheley at 202-640-4638 or email cfeheley@asn-online.org.
