The International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP) XVI World Congress is an international, multi-modular symposium that aims to stimulate research in the field of hypertension in pregnancy, disseminate the useful results and advance the education in the field. ISSHP's Congress is also coordinated with that of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine (ISOM). Two post-graduate courses will be held before the ISSHP meeting begins. The course on Saturday, September 20, 2008 is entitled "How to Improve Patient Safety in Obstetrics" and "Controversies in Obstetrics" will be presented on Sunday, September 21, 2008. Over 700 attendees are expected in Washington, DC, including key opinion leaders and decision makers from the United States and more than 20 countries from Latin America, Europe and Asia.
