South African College of Nephrology

Dates: July 26 - 29, 2008

Location: Durban, South Africa

Details: http://www.sarenalcongress.co.za/

The South African Renal Society is one of the oldest nephrology societies in the world, having been formed in 1967. Over the past decade we have established strong links with the International Society of Nephrology as well as with our colleagues in the rest of Africa. In 1998 we were privileged to have organized, for the first time, a joint congress of South African Renal Society and the African Society of Nephrology (AFRAN). This was held in Durban as well and was a great success. For 2008 we are planning a dynamic programme which will be preceded by ISN/SARS CME day. As always, there will also be an exciting social programme.

The congress venue is the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, which is situated conveniently on Durban’s colourful beachfront. Durban, a major seaport, is one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse cities in South Africa. In addition to the city itself, delegates will have a wide variety of pre or post congress tours to choose from. Major tourist attractions include; traditional Zulu villages, excellent game viewing at the nearby Hluhluwe Game Park, the beautiful St Lucia Wetlands and of course the rugged Drakensberg resorts.
