Details: Numerous themes included in the nutrition and metabolism fields of nephrology will be addressed. Among them, two now appear of preeminent interest: on the one hand, the implications of the metabolic syndrome and overload diseases in the pathogenesis of renal diseases, and on the other hand, the prognosis impact of malnutrition in end-stage renal disease. Both these issues imply epidemiological strategies, preventive and therapeutic management which will be developed.
