The ASN thanks the European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) for its assistance with this program.
The annual ERA-EDTA meeting was in Barcelona this year and our European colleagues presented a large body of important new scientific and clinical information. Science and education, like many other aspects of our lives, has become globalized. In recognition of the important European contributions to our field we have asked them to summarize and critique key aspects of their meeting. The ASN has reciprocated, having presented the highlights of our 2006 Renal Week meeting in Barcelona in June 2007.
